[Pittsburgh, PA] – S&B USA Construction Names James P. McNelis as CEO

S&B USA Construction proudly announces the appointment of James P. (Jim) McNelis as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over 40 years of industry experience, including 33 years of distinguished service with Joseph B. Fay Company and S&B USA, Jim McNelis brings proven leadership and deep institutional knowledge to his new role.

Jim began his career at Joseph B. Fay Company, rising through the ranks to serve as President. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President of S&B USA Construction, where he oversaw strategic initiatives and led all preconstruction functions, including Alternative Delivery, Business Development, and Estimating. His expertise in alternative delivery methods and his strong industry relationships have played a pivotal role in securing multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region.

“Jim is a natural choice to lead S&B USA Construction into its next chapter,” said Amit Birman, CEO of Shikun & Binui, Ltd., the parent company of S&B USA. “We’re confident in the strength of the leadership team and excited about the company’s continued growth.”

Birman also reaffirmed the parent company’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market and praised the significant strides made by S&B USA in public-private partnerships (P3s), alternative delivery, and general contracting. “S&B USA is uniquely positioned with the capabilities to deliver all forms of infrastructure projects,” he added. “From concessions expertise led by Lucas Lahitou, CEO of S&B USA Concessions, to construction management and self-perform services led by Jim McNelis, we are aligned for success.”

Additionally, after two and a half years serving as CEO of S&B USA Construction and S&B USA, Peter MacKenna will be stepping down from his role. This decision will allow him to return home to New York and spend more time with his family. Since taking on the position in September 2022, Peter has provided dedicated leadership, and we thank him sincerely for his service and contributions to the organization.

This leadership transition comes at a time of strong momentum for S&B USA, as it continues to deliver safe, innovative infrastructure solutions across the country.
