For Michelle Olszewski and Sara Horsey, being part of major infrastructure projects is about more than the structures themselves. It’s about solving problems, collaborating with talented teams and seeing the results of their work take shape.

Their presence in the field also matters for another reason: representation.

Women considering careers in engineering, construction and the skilled trades need to be able to see themselves in these roles. Michelle and Sara are helping make that picture more visible showing that there is a place for women in the rooms where projects are designed, on the jobsites where they are built and at every stage in between.

The bridges, highways and infrastructure being built today will remain part of the landscape for decades. The people building them are helping shape what comes next, too. Michelle and Sara aren’t just contributing to important projects today. They’re helping create a stronger path forward for women in construction and showing the next generation what’s possible.
